Hypocrites and Losers

John Edwards slammed Dems for taking cash from News Corp and/or Murdock.
John Edwards, who yesterday demanded Democratic candidates return any campaign donations from Rupert Murdoch and News Corp., himself earned at least $800,000 for a book published by one of the media mogul’s companies.
His reply loosely quoted:
“But mom I gave it to charity”
Meanwhile, this Democrat led Congress is imploding.
No new ideas, nothing to say but that we should lose, and they shudder that we will be getting good news from a General who is due to report on the SURGE.
The Democrat led Congress is at a 3% approval level by Zogby. You get that just for showing up. Oh yah, they don’t do that. Well, I guess you get that for breathing.
Bush stays at 24% approval and 54% basically thinks he sucks as a Commander in Chief. Pretty much steady going.
It is the Dems own refusal to deal with this War and its ramifications, one way or the other that is hurting their public approval. They have been painted as a wishy washy group that bend to their Left Wingers. You know they type that smoked hash and grow up to write on Huffington. They all harken for the good ole day of Hait Ashbury and Berkley or they have been bumbed out all these years that they missed it.
It is a real shame because again the Republicans will regain Congress and the Presidency, uncontested. Thus, we are very likely to have little real debate and more instead of us, more of us V them. We need new ideas for a new era and I am afraid we will get just more of the same.
The Left will try to sound new and rebelious singing the same bull shit from the 60’s and 70’s and call those new and fresh. While the right will use what has worked for them.
More scared of the boogey man tactics and we need to lower taxes. Yawn. Yah I agree with all that and I will vote for a Conservative. But, what was once principles based on Beliefs and ecomomic models of Art Laffer and others, has become Commercial Slogans. How seriously can you take something that sounds like ,”Everythings better with BlueBonnet On it?” Personally I wish Newt would jump in. His ideas are NEW.
But we are in many ways a crumbling society. Like the ROman Empire our infrastructure is rotting. That bridge in Minneapolis can serve as a metaphor for our core values. Perhaps we can include Nw Orleans and even the Twin Towers.
Without foundation this country will crumble either by forces of nature, by forces of man, or on its own weight.
And these slogans have made the public debate become about Us V Them (Left V Right, Lib V Consevative, Dem V Republican, instead of US.
