Trickle Down Economics
Geez a Tax Break for the RIch? Seems receipts are higher thna ever and the rich are paying more taxes than ever.
As John Mauldin said in his letter:
As Dennis Gartman reminds me from time to time, tax receipts are a very reliable indicator of economic activity. Nobody pays more taxes than they have to. Income tax receipts have been high and rising. Capital gains tax receipts are higher than ever, despite an almost 50% cut in rates by George Bush. Imagine that. Tax cuts worked by increasing tax receipts. And where has the largest increase in tax receipts come from? High-income tax payers, who are now paying a larger percentage of total taxes than ever. So much for the “tax cut for the rich.” Now if Republicans in Congress had just held the line on spending we would have a balanced budget.

Its The Economy/Iraq Stupid!

Bush 1 Lost his election because as he was reminded, “Its the economy stupid”!.
Well W has arguably the best economy ever, his tax cuts have dropped the deficit in half, and still everyone focuses on Iraq.
“I’ve always felt the economy is a determinate issue, if not the determinate issue, in campaigns. We’ve had a little history of that in our family.”
We will see. I tend to agree with him.

The Market Has Aready Voted
Air America Radio (Scare America ), a liberal talk and news radio network, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a network official told the AP.
Hey Bill Clinton, Have Another Waffle:
At a recent Lib Fundraiser in Vegas: “The Democratic Party has become the liberal and conservative party in America. If you want to be fiscally conservative, you’ve got to be for us. If you want to conserve natural resources, you’ve got to be for us,” he said. “If you want a change of course in Iraq … you’ve got to be for us.”
And he wonders where the term “waffling” came about.

Trickle Down Ruined By Trickle SpendingÂ
U.S. budget deficit has shrunk by a whopping $71 billion compared to last year. Of course the extra revenues came from increased total tax revenues at lower tax rates. This is a tough pill for a Nancy Pelosi to get.
Whe of course promises to raise these taxes. The Revenue news emboldened the truth of lower taxes increase enterprise, increase jobs which lead to more tax revenues.
The challenge of course is that the more money Uncle Sam gets the more it spends. Can you imagine the Windfall if we were not fighting a Global War on terrorism? Obviously Terror, Disasters, and the normal Fat Head spending, has caused this deficit to occur.
Can you imagine if the Revenues were not there?
In a Pelosi Democrat world, Bush would be impeached (or attempted to anyway), Taxes would be higher, Revenues lower, unemployment thus would rise.
How would they make up for their shoirtcomings? The Democrats would Cut and Run so they could ramp up their entitlements here in the States to assure they “buy off” their next generation of Voters.

The Dow Hit a Mid Day high today!
The Dow Jones industrial average this morning passed the 11,900 mark for the first time, as strong projected earnings for McDonald’s Corp. and a 71% quarterly profit PepsiCo Inc. were positive signs for investors despite a slowing economy.
The Dow rose as high as 11,917.68 in mid-morning trading, surpassing its previous intraday high of 11,872.94.Â
This after last friday Former Fed chief Greenspan declared the housing bubble just a hickup. It was an interesting article as he said that the recent boom of the last years were because of open markets not lower rates.

Its getting dirty in DC.
The Mud first started with Clinton’s tyrade production on Fox, which was quickly followed by Foley being outed a potential pedophile which affected Majority Leader Hassert because he supposedly knew about the messages to the Pages.
Now the Dems are getting some blow back as Senate Minority Leader Reid hung up the phone when queried by AP about a $1.1 million windfall on Las Vegas land he had not owned for three years.
Reid collected on the Las Vegas land sale in a deal engineered by a longtime friend and former casino lawyer, Jay Brown, whose name has surfaced in organized crime investigations, the AP said.
According to records and interviews obtained by the AP, the senator did not disclose to Congress an earlier sale in which he transferred his land to a company created by a friend and took a financial stake in the company.
These guys ought to know they are both dirty and they ought to be like the mob and not discuss business, wit dos not in the business. 
And we wonder why Americans are disgusted with their leaders.

655,000 Iraqis have died because of the war, suggesting a far higher death toll than other estimates. This according Burnham, of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and others is to be published Thursday on the Web site of The Lancet, a medical journal.
Deaths are occurring in Iraq now at a rate more than three times that from before the invasion of March 2003,” Dr. Gilbert Burnham, lead author of the study, said in a statement.
The problem with te study is the researchers who have created similar studies just before previous elections have admitted their intentions.At the time, the lead researcher, Les Roberts of Hopkins, said the timing was deliberate. Many of the same researchers were involved in the latest estimate.
 One respected group says truthfully the rough estimate at closer to 50,000.
“They’re almost certainly way too high….This is not analysis, this is politics,” said Anthony Cordesman of the Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington. He criticized the way the estimate was derived and noted the bias right before an election.
Dems Shopped Foley a year ago.

Democrats knew about Foley for at least a year.
This about kills any idea that the Republicans were remiss in handling the situation. Obviously two wrongs don’t make a right, but this is politics, and the Dems could care less about the wrong except in its potency to win an election.
A Democratic operative shopped around the story of disgraced former congressman Mark Foley’s inappropriate behavior with male pages more than one year ago, according to Harper’s magazine.
In a story posted today on the weekly’s website, reporter Ken Silverstein says that in May he received copies of the now-infamous e-mail exchanges between Foley and a 16-year-old page.
