Trade Deficit Is Down
For the 2nd Month record exports and queerly, lower oil costs are cited for reasons lowering the trade deficit. But economists expect the figure to rise before declines become steady.
In another report released Friday, consumer optimism buckled in May to its lowest level since Hurricane Katrina, hit by $3-a-gallon gasoline, rising mortgage interest rates and a souring political climate.
