As the trial of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein resumes, the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies is posting 4 videos of actual torture and murder that took place under Saddam Hussein’s regime.
FDD President Cliff May notes:
“Television news, understandably, will not broadcast such videos. But they are, nevertheless, an important record of Saddam Hussein’s crimes against humanity that should be available to the public as his trial resumes.â€

A pre-emptive U.S. and Israeli military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities is nearly inevitable, reports Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.
The incapacitation of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has made a pre-emptive attack on Iran more likely in the next nine weeks, Israeli sources tell the premium, online intelligence newsletter published by the founder of WND.
Iran answered back with a “Im rubber your glue, what you say bounces off me and back to you” speach. This in light of a possible assasintion attempt whereby President Ahmadinejad canceled his trip to Iran’s southern city of Ahvaz on Monday after a security tip warning him Arab dissidents planned to assassinate him with a series of bombings.
Today, just minutes after 10 a.m. local time, two bombs exploded in Ahvaz, one outside a privately run bank, the other outside the city’s Natural Resources Department.
Were Israel to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iran says they would respond so strongly that it would put the Jewish state into “an eternal coma” like Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s, the Iranian defense minister said Wednesday.
A newscaster on Iranian state television read out a response from Iran’s minister of defense, Gen. Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, on Wednesday.
“Zionists should know that if they do anything evil against Iran, the response of Iran’s armed forces will be so firm that it will send them into eternal coma, like Sharon,” Najjar said.
Dead Babies
January 25, 2006
It was thirty years or so of insurgency. The Death toll was huge after years of bombardment and Government and media support.
Over these 30 years, 47 million babies were killed.
Few in the “modern” world press even acknowledge this ongoing slaughter. The onslaught has become a part of this countries modern day lifestyle.
Am I talking about Rawanda or some African Country plagued by dictators or AIDS?
No, in fact I am talking about America, where we are free to slaughter ourselves as we please.
Book of Daniel is Dead
January 25, 2006
When the only Sponsopr left was the Burlington Coat Factory NBC pulled riskiest show of the year, it included a wife who relied on midday martinis, a 16-year-old daughter who was a drug dealer and a 16-year-old adopted son who was having sex with the bishop’s daughter. At the office, the priest’s lesbian secretary was sleeping with his sister-in-law.
“Unfortunately, due to many reasons, ‘The Book of Daniel’ will no longer be aired on NBC on Friday nights,” he wrote to fans. “I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to all of you who supported the show. There were many wonderful, talented people who contributed to its success – and I do mean success. Whatever the outcome, I feel that I accomplished what I set out to do: A solid family drama, with lots of humor, that honestly explored the lives of the Webster family. Good, flawed people, who loved each other no matter what … and there was always a lot of ‘what’! I remain proud of our product, proud of my association with Sony, NBC Universal, and NBC, who all took a chance on a project that spoke to them, and proud to have made an impact on so many of your lives.”
Builders Set Production Record in 2005
January 25, 2006
Despite a year-end slowdown, U.S. home builders set a record for single-family housing production in 2005, according to figures reported by the Commerce Department last week.
“All in all, 2005 will be remembered as a superb year for the housing industry, thanks to highly favorable interest rates and the strong buyer demand they helped spur,†said NAHB President David Pressly.
“Total U.S. housing starts for the year 2005 topped 2.06 million units, which is up 5.6% from 2004 and the second-highest starts number on record following 1972’s 2.36 million units,†said NAHB Chief Economist David Seiders. “On the single-family side, starts hit 1.71 million units for all of 2005. This is up 6.4% from 2004 and the best pace ever recorded. It’s also the third consecutive time that single-family starts have broken the annual record.â€

Realtors Sell Houses For More Than FSBO’s
January 23, 2006
2005 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, based on more than 7,800 responses to a questionnaire mailed to a large national sample of consumers located through county deed records, is the latest in a series of surveys evaluating demographics, marketing, and other characteristics of home buyers and sellers.
FSBOs or For Sale By Owners have downtrended since that market share experienced a cyclical peak of 18 percent in 1997. Only 13 percent of sellers conducted transactions without the assistance of a real estate professional in 2005, and 39 percent of those FSBO transactions were “closely held†between parties who knew each other in advance, up from 32 percent in 2004. The By Owner market share was at 14 percent in both 2003 and 2004. NAR began tracking the FSBO market in 1981; the record was 20 percent in 1987.
“In reality, the term ‘FSBO’ is a misnomer when used to broadly describe homes sold directly by owners,” Stevens says. “Since two out of five of these transactions are between related parties, and those properties are not placed on the open market, we believe that ‘unrepresented sellers’ would be a much more accurate term to describe this segment.â€
The median home price for sellers who use a practitioner is 16.0 percent higher than a home sold directly by an owner ($230,000 vs. $198,200); there were no significant differences between the types of homes sold. “While many unrepresented sellers are motivated to save on paying a commission, we think the price difference speaks for itself,†Stevens says. “Owners without professional assistance also have problems in understanding and completing paperwork, prepping the home for sale, getting the right price, and selling within the time planned.â€
Dick Morris on NSA Spying
January 23, 2006
Dick Morris recently warned Democrats who criticize President Bush for using warrantless wiretaps to elicit information about potential terrorist
activity should be aware that the American people strongly support his
decision to do so.
The Fox News poll of Jan. 11 asked voters whether the president “should have
the power to authorize the National Security Agency to monitor electronic
communications of suspected terrorists without getting warrants, even if one
end of the communication is in the United States?
said they’d be willing to surrender some of their own privacy to help
prevent terror attacks.
And those who called attention to the NSA policy of warrant-less wiretaps
are called “traitors” by 50 percent of the voters and “whistleblowers” by
only 27 percent. Democrats opted for “traitors” by 42 percent to 34 percent.
Americans credited government efforts by 46 percent (to 22
percent for the terrorists, with another 20 percent saying both factors
contributed). when asked if the fact that there has been no major terror attack since 9/11 was due to “security measures working” or to “no attack having been planned” by terrorists,
Morris went on to hint that Bush’s is fearless about a Congressional investigation is because he knows he will come out ahead. The more focus this issue gets, the more it helps his administration.
The fact that there has been no declaration of war is a distinction without a difference. Congress has approved military action and within that approval lies an implicit assumption that the president will use our intelligence services to prevail militarily, on the home front as surely as he does in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Dumbing Us Down in LA

Something is definitely wrong with modern Public Education when the schools are teaching the kids how to pass the California High School Exit Exam –because if they do not pass, students won’t get their diplomas in June.
In the same general area as Crenshaw High who lost their state accredidation because they suck so bad (that means the Lamb Skin is worth more than the paper!), Banning High School is working around the clock to get their Seniors passed.
They started the year off with get this, 208 seniors who still needed to pass. Through intensive intervention and retesting in November, that number has dropped to a disgusting 65. Banning High School Principal Michael Summe proudly told the Daily Breeze in Torrance .”It’s something you can’t relax on.”
My question is then why were you relaxing during the four years you had them already!
At neighboring Gardena HS , 1 of 4 Seniors can’t pass. Future Gang Members of America Unite! The future thugs and criminals are net bread on the streets of our ghettos. They are bred in our Public High Schools!
Of course the argument is that the teachers in these poor areas are not qualified.
“But the very best that we can say is that the state is only starting to take actions that will correct these deep inequalities and deep inadequacies… “They started too late for the class of 2006.” said UCLA education researcher John Rogers.
Centinela Valley Union High School District Superintendent Cheryl White said high schools also are dealing with the cumulative effects of education. By the time students arrive on her campuses, more than 85 percent are testing below grade level.
Power of The Media & Government
January 20, 2006
The ever eloquent Peggy Noonan wrote a piece today illustrating the implosion of the Democrat party as it relates to the disentegration of their hold on American Media. ![]()
With recent off color jokes by George Clooney, past icons like Cronkite making demands that used to matter, but just don’t anymore.
When a Washington Times article blasted Alito, Online Blogs and Articles, counterpunched.
What Noonan points out now, is that the Leftist Media is finally starting to admit who they really are-Liberal Democrats. And as the Republicans now have the Power because of their original stand on limited Government. It is time to make sure that the Party stays a good party. ![]()
Amen Peggy. How does the saying go? Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
