Katrina just did her deed in causing the worse natural disaster in US history.

New Orleans is well, a Lake for all intensive purposes, while the remaining populace loots the businesses. I am not too sure what they are taking. The food has got be ruined, and even if the TV's still work, do these people have electricity?

Reading today's news I see that 95 percent of the Gulf of Mexico's normal daily oil production was shut down Tuesday because of Hurricane Katrina.

Jihad-Islam a peaceful religion-a contrast in terms

I have always said that if it not for the Oil, The Middle East would be nothing but F'ng Sand, to quote a Sam Kinneson bit (he was actually referring to Africa in another context, but I digress).

Why would I say such a thing? Because this whole thing going on in the terrorist World is a War of culture. Like it or not, if you are not Muslim, you are as good as dead to the evil guys.

I for one think the culture of Islam as it has been portrayed by their leaders is suspect and hypocritical. "we are a peaceful religion" rings out as the last tower falls.

Peaceful? When cells sneak into the U.S. and others Countries that uphold freedoms not understood by these evil ones. Waiting for the toll to call out JIHAD onto innocents perhaps in my area.

Like the devil in the movie "The Devils Advocate", these guys speak with a forked tongue. Yes Means NO and No Means Yes. They only understand strong resolve. As diplomacy is only a way to misrepresent and lie. Negotiation means nothing. It is only a way to take advantage of the other sides naive, albeit good intentions.

At some point the U.S. will get this. As a friend of mine, a member of L.A.'s fine SWAT Team told me. "We have to get out of reaction mode, and into action mode."

As I write this, Israel has vacated the Gaza strip.

As I understand it. Gaza was a somewhat bustling area with nice homes, and a vibrant economy. I have no reason to doubt this as Israel was nothing but vast swamp land prior to them taking it over.

Watch the contrast in cultural, dare I say religious inferiority, as the area becomes a vast wasteland.

Tolerance is one thing. Stupidity is another. Freedom without responsibility will destroy any peace loving culture.

It is the war we fight today.

It was a Great Time. More Americans Had Jobs than ever in the History of the Union

Do you remember it? Times were good. Everyone was working. In fact, more Americans had jobs than at any other time in history. Second, over the past two decades or so, the U.S. has created more than 40 million jobs--twice as many as Europe and Japan combined. And third, the U.S. has one of the lowest jobless rates of all developed nations.

No this is not from the Clinton era. IT is from today. As reported at The WSJ. However, if it was the Clinton era, The news would be swooning over the new Camelot.

However, unlike the last President, who took on "other" more gratifying JOBS, Bush takes on huge issues and creates a great economy whilst taking on the bad guys. And the media YAHNS! But they jumped all over John Kerry blasting the "jobless recovery."

However, the article points out what the major media does not want you or I to know:

Lou Dobbs was flogging "outsourcing" every night on CNN as a sign of peril for the American workforce. That criticism now looks wildly off base.
The 5% jobless rate today is almost a percentage point below what it was during the same stage of the business cycle during the vaunted "Clinton expansion."
In the past 24 months 3.5 million more Americans have found work, which is the equivalent of a new job for every worker in the entire state of Indiana.
Every single job that was lost during the bursting of the technology bubble and stock market collapse of 2000-01 has been matched by a new job, often in a new industry.
As the nearby chart shows, the bottom of the jobs recession hit in mid-2003--and the recovery began at the very point that the Bush marginal-rate tax cuts were enacted into law.
With median family income now above $52,000 a year, more families can maintain a comfortable lifestyle with one spouse working rather than two.
"long-term unemployed" workers is about two percentage points lower than it was in the same stage of the Clinton expansion.

And as Blogging News points out:

Part of the explanation for this success is that, especially compared to Europe, the U.S. has imposed fewer taxes and regulations (even though we have plenty) that make it onerous for employers to hire and fire workers.

Is it no surprise that the recovery began when the tax cuts began?

While Bush 1 forget it was about "The Economy Stupid". W has one upped pops by Taking care of business while protecting the motherland. Something neither of the past two Presidents had been able to produce.

Facts the Left Don't Want You to Know

In Iraq in January there were 39 combat related killings. In the fair city of Detroit in January there were 35 murders. That's just one American city and it's about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq. And that's not counting Washington, DC.

When liberals, democrats or communists tell you President Bush shouldn't have started this war, cause great consternation in them by replying with these simple facts.

1. Franklin Delano Roosevelt led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us. Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

2. Harry S. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.

3. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us.

4. Lyndon B. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

5. William Jefferson Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us.

6. William Jefferson Clinton was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama bin Laden has attacked us on multiple occasions and continues to do so to this day.

6. In the years since terrorists attacked us , George W. Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

When liberals, democrats and communists shriek about how long the war is taking, remind them that:

1. We took Iraq in less time than it did Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.

2. We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.

3. The U.S. Marines and the 3rd Infantry Division took less time to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than Ted Kennedy took to call the police after he sank his Oldsmobile at Chappaquiddick.

4. It took less time to take Iraq than the courts took to count the votes in Florida!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military morale is high! The liberal democrat communist global media thinks we're too stupid and preoccupied and entertained to know the facts and spread them around.

But wait ... there's more!

Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living. And it's typical but sad example of what some who have never served think of the military.

"It wasn't my checkbook on the line, Howard; it was my life. It was not a nine-to-five job where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank.

"I ask you to go with me to a veteran's hospital, as I have gone, and look those men with their mangled bodies in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job!

"You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and to the widows and Orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee, as I have gone, and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job!

"You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags.

"You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

Why I have become enviro, but not Green

This is a short essay not directly about oil, but the irony of oil.

9/11/ was financed by rich Saudis. The Rich Saudis got rich on oil. Oil that we buy.

So we send money to the Middle East for Oil (that we showed them how to produce by the way), and they send us Oil & Jihad as a bonus.

Take away the need for oil, and they don't have financing to blow themselves up. Simple. They don't produce anything else. So they could become just like the other third world countries that we send money to for nothing in return.

Now understand I don't believe in the so called badly scientific Green House Effect. I don't worry 'bout the planet. It has been here longer than us. I worry about idiots with flawed philosophies.

So if you want to end this war on terror:

Starve a Terrorist, Buy an Electric Hybrid Car!
