California Recall in Progress
Commentary:

Lots of rumblings in the State and the campaign is turning ugly.

Davis is going after Arnold. Saying he may challenge him to a debate. Your Untitled One says that the only one that can lose in a Davis Arnold debate is Arnold. So that won't happen, but it gives Gumby something to talk about besides all the Screwing he has done to the State.

Meanwhile your Untitled One-(a conservative himself if you can't tell) says that Tommyboy must step aside or we will lose the state.

Your Untitled One is tired of listening to shallow far righters (remember I am far right too-not shallow though ;-)) crying out at the "Elite Republicans" (didn't know I was elite. I feel better already. Maybe we can make a better logo for the site now that I am elite) for telling Mac to step aside for fear of splitting the vote. The far righters (mostly moral Majority types-don't bash me I am on your side) say that Arnold should step aside and let Mac get the remaining votes.

I got news for my fellow far right. Those Arnie votes are Dems and Independents-the Reagan Democrats if you will. That is how pathetic the Conservative voice is in California. So if Arnie leaves the race they will do one of three actions. Vote No on Recall, Vote for Bustamecha, or not vote at all.

If Mac leaves you can either not vote out of conscious or at least put someone in that can make some change in our favor.

And on that not I heard a Christian station yesterday whereby the host said for the first time we do not have to choose the lesser of the evil. In other Tom is exactly what we need. Win or Not. He is a good man.

I do have some doubts about that as ole Tom has gone negative on Arnie.

Tom's ads said Arnie is for Abortion
-Not giving an opinion is not saying you are for it.
Tom's ads say that Tom is the only one that signed a no new tax pledge.
-If Arnie invented his own "No new Tax" Allegance Pledge and signed it would tom sign his?

I guess I am tired of hearing Tom's rantings as the higher road candidate with his smug demeanor is getting to Your Untitled One.

His ads are disingenuous. Abortion is not an issue. the governor has no say in the matter. Arnold has given the more honest answer by saying he will not raise taxes barring an emergency. Of course if tom was faced with a major crisis taxes would go up.

Tom try's to frame his predicament as if he was our modern Reagan. "Sorry Tom, I lived when Reagan was prez and you are no Ronnie"

And if we can recall, Ronald Reagan was an outsider. Tom McClintock is a Sacramento insider that has been involved in the state's mess since the get go. What has he done? Notice we have heard nothing of his record? Not what he has campaigned about. What he has changed?

To bitch is one thing. To make change is another in the political arena.

  To all ideologues now hear this.

Tom is divisive in a State that is mostly liberal. If Governor, he would have to deal with a vicious liberal majority that only Arnold as an outsider could tame (in my opinion).

So your far righters think about wasting your vote. Do you want to win the battle, or the WAR?

And to those that say, "let Tom lose and Buste win. In 4 years the State will be in crisis and Tom can save the day."

That attitude gave us September 11th. (Remember Ross Perot) And besides Tom would  never win a seat for anything other than his own district. It would be Political Suicide.

Recall Debate Transcript

ThePresident's Speech to the UN

"The average age of the world's greatest civilization has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance;
from abundance to complacency;
from complacency to apathy;
from apathy to dependence;
from dependence back into bondage."
Scots Historian Professor Alexander Tyler Circa 1787

Possible New Crappy California Laws for Davis to sign:

AB 1245, by John Laird. Prevents draft ballot measures from first going to the Attorney General, who currently cleans up illegal language before public distribution. Instead, measures will go on a website so we see every screw-up. The intent is to create chaos around measures so they'll fail at the polls.
AB 1309,
by Jackie Goldberg. After a school district tears down houses to build a school, this allows a district to go tear down somebody else's house, somewhere else, to put up housing for those originally displaced.
AB 587,
by Mark Ridley-Thomas. A box asking your skin color will now go on voter registration forms. It's voluntary---but expect a move next to make it required.
SB 796,
by Joseph Dunn. Allows workers to seek fines of $200 each from firms who commit tiny labor violations. One code specifies a font size employee notices must be posted in. So 50 employees can now get $10,000 over improper fonts.
AB 231,
by Darrell Steinberg. "Reforms" the food stamp program, which required that nobody own a fancy car if taxpayers were buying their food.
AB 205,the Homosexual Marriage Bill!!

and on and on and on....
