Gay Marriage in California
AB 1967 is a reation to President George W. Bush's comments in his January State of the Union address that favors a constitutional amendment protecting marriage for one man and one woman only. Democrats have homosexual Assemblyman Mark
Leno of San Francisco who is introducing AB 1967 that would add "two persons" to the definition of marriage to read:
"Marriage is a personal relation arising out of a civil contract
between two persons…"
"Two unmarried persons of the age 18 years or older…are capable of
consenting to and consummating marriage."
Assemblyman Leno is blatantly removing the terms "man" and "woman" from current law so that anyone can marry in California. Two homosexual men and two homosexual women would be issued marriage licenses under this
bill.
The actions in San Francisco and of Mark Leno are part of a well crafted effort to cram down the throats of Californians full-blown homosexual marriage.
As usual our propositions seem to mean nothing as we already voted on this.In March of 2000, California's voters overwhelmingly passed Prop. 22 with 61% of the vote declaring "only marriage between one man and one woman is valid or recognized in California."
They are trying to throw the issue of homosexual marriage into the courts in an attempt to gain the favor of sympathetic liberal judges in California and the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals!
AB 1967 is contrary to Prop 22 and to California law. California law states that the legislature cannot circumvent a law that the public itself has implemented, such as Prop 22.
Let your assemblyman know your thoughts against this Bill.
