John Kerry sees Iraqi Terrorist as legit voice

In an interview broadcast Wednesday morning, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry defended terrorist Shiite imam Muqtada al-Sadr as a "legitimate voice" in Iraq, despite that fact that he's led an uprising that has killed nearly 20 American GIs in the last two days.

Speaking of al-Sadr's newspaper, which was shut down by coalition forces last week after it urged violence against U.S. troops, Kerry complained to National Public Radio, "They shut a newspaper that belongs to a legitimate voice in Iraq."

Dem Senator admits they are out to get Rush Limbaugh

Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Betty Castor has removed all doubts that the effort by Florida prosecutors to nail Rush Limbaugh on doctor-shopping charges is politically motivated.

Campaigning before a crowd of Democrat retirees in Boca Raton this week, Castor pledged that her son Frank, who works in the office of State Attorney Barry Krischer, would do everything he could to put Limbaugh behind bars.

Responding to an audience member who called for her son to "help put Limbaugh away," the Senate hopeful said, "It's the best suggestion I've had today."

4-08-04 Condi says LA saved by alert Customs Agent, not Clinton National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice told the 9/11 Commission Thursday morning that it was an alert Customs agent - and not the Clinton administration "shaking the trees" for intelligence on al-Qaida - who deserves credit for foiling the December 1999 al-Qaida plot to bomb Los Angeles International Airport.

In fact, said Rice, Clarke himself admitted that the Clinton administration's warnings had nothing to do with the apprehension of Millennium bomber Ahmed Ressam.

"After September 11, Dick Clarke sent us the after action report that had been done after the Millennium Plot," Rice told the Commission. "And their assessment was that Ressam had been caught by chance."

President Bush's campaign and the GOP on Wednesday accused Democrat John Kerry's campaign of illegally coordinating political ads and get-out-the-vote activities with independent groups.

The Bush campaign and Republican National Committee said they would file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission accusing Kerry and pro-Kerry groups of violating a campaign law that broadly bans the use of "soft money" - corporate, union and unlimited individual donations - to influence federal elections.

From 3-29 Washington Times: "Long an advocate of a national sales tax, a confident DeLay told a conference of tax lobbyists Wednesday that House Republicans will have hearings and push the issue in 2005 and 2006."
